Made in Japan
Yasuyuki Ishii is a distinguished Japanese fashion designer and the creative force behind his eponymous brand, founded in 1996 in Tokyo, Japan. Known for his avant-garde designs, Ishii’s work often incorporates leather and shell materials, characterized by a predominantly dark color palette. His journey began as an artist, where he first garnered attention and accolades for his objet d’art. Transitioning into fashion, his unique and intricate creations, though not suitable for mass production, have earned him a dedicated following. His innovative designs have been exhibited at prestigious fashion shows in Europe, especially in Paris, and recently, he showcased his work at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., USA. Additionally, his exhibitions have graced the FUGA Gallery in Budapest, Hungary, and the Central Museum of Art. An absolutely stunning artisanal piece from Yasuyuki Ishii’s archive. Produced during the early 2000s, the sweater is constructed from heavy wool blend yarn weaving in together, comes with intentional pre-distressing and fray details throughout that imitates the affect effect of it being worn out. Comes at a super oversized fit, this chunky knit will make u feel soft as a child in their blankets.
