UNDERCOVER AW02 “Witch’s Cell Division” Velvet M65 Cargo Jacket
Made in Japan
Undercover is a renowned Japanese fashion label that melds streetwear aesthetics with high fashion, known for its avant-garde and subversive designs. The brand was founded in 1990 by Jun Takahashi, a visionary designer with a passion for music and punk culture. Undercover’S Autumn/Winter 2002 collection, titled “Witch’s Cell Division,” creatively merges classic pop-culture witch imagery with the playful world of robots. The unexpected combination brings together a darker color palette with whimsical robot motifs, drawing inspiration from iconic Transformers. Each piece in the collection showcases the influence of Transformers, infusing unconventional fabrics into familiar silhouettes, resulting in transmutable shapes. This particular jacket is Jun Takahashi’s one of many interpretation of a M65 military cargo jacket, with velvet material spanning the entire garment, YKK silver heavy duty zip and snap cargo pockets.
