Born in Hebei in 1972, Uma Wang was drawn to aesthetics and Eastern philosophy. Her imagination and artistic flair, led her to pursue a career in fashion design. In 1992, she began her fashion design studies at Shanghai China Textile University and later worked as an in-house designer for various Chinese labels, where she shaped her skills of textile. In 2002, she moved to London to study fashion design at Central Saint Martins. Three years later, she launched her label and focused on knitwear.
