The Viridi-anne was foundrd in 2001 by Tomoaki Okaniwa, having their based in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, mirrors the designer’s transition from fine arts to fashion, starting with his graduation from Tokyo Zoukei University and the establishment of Caterpillar Produit in 1987. Originally focusing on women’s wear, Okaniwa’s desire for personal expression was ignited by an underground runway show in Tokyo, leading to the creation of the label. Characterized by a dark color palette and contemporary style, the brand represents subtle intricacy. The men’s line combines comfort with edgy sophistication, showcasing asymmetrical pieces, layered shorts, and distressed jersey t-shirts. Embracing the concept of “wabi-sabi,” each garment reflects Japanese aesthetics of imperfection and craftsmanship. The Viridi-anne, with its sleek design and avant-garde sensibility, reflects Okaniwa’s artistic journey in the fashion world. The particular leather jacket came from earlier 2000’s period of the label. Crafted with 100% goat skin leather as outer shell, feature soft lining and multiple Riri zip pockets throughout, accompanying with branded long metal tab dual zippers at the front.
