If you don’t already know Takahiro Miyashita, start Googling. Undoubtedly, one of the most influential Japanese fashion designer, started his first infamous label in 1996 NUMBER(N)INE, accumulated a cult following, considering the name was a Beatles reference and Miyashita’s output is grounded in referential obsession to his twin loves, music and cinema. After his sudden leave at NUMBER(N)INE in 2009, after a year of silence, and then, in 2010, he resurrected with Takahiromiyashita TheSoloist. Produce season by season, the specific denim that features for this post were one of the first batch released in 2012. Made with various shades of vintage Levi’s denim, reconstructed from a myriad of jean parts, each jean is uniquely made from the scratch. Features a flared cropped hem with patches of pockets throughout.
