STREET Magazine was published from 1985 onwards by Shoichi Aoki, whom also responsible for FRUITS and TUNE magazine, with the purpose of showing Japanese audience what people elsewhere in the world were wearing. In its early years the pictures have a pleasingly candid, unfussy style, and it also serves as a record of how people dressed in a period before the internet.
