  Raf Simons, born 1968 in Neerpelt, Belgium, began his career in industrial and furniture design before transitioning to fashion. He launched his eponymous menswear label in 1995, gaining acclaim for minimalist designs that resonated with youth subcultures. In 2005, Raf by Raf Simons was introduced as a diffusion line which goals was to offer a more accessible take on his aesthetic, however this line was later on discontinued in 2011 due to some backlash.
