Number (N)ine SS99 Lambskin Rider Leather Pants
Made in Japan
Number (N)ine is a Japanese fashion label founded in 1996 by Takahiro Miyashita, the name was inspired by the Beatles song ‘Revolution 9’; which is played into the brand’s design ethos under its initial creative director. Collections from N(N) is known for their Americana pop/rock culture references; from Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix and politics (widely seen “George Bush” t-shirts from SS06), which helped gain recognition nationally and worldwide. Sadly, due to its limited existence under Takahiro Miyashita, the label sold most of its ownership to a private company after Autumn/Winter 2009 collection, hence contributed to consistent rising in demands for their earlier designs. The particular pair of leather pants were from his lesser-acclaimed Spring/Summer 1999, shown in Harajuku, the collection featured simple designs yet still carried that grungy & eerie aesthetic inspired by Punk/Rock music from the very start.
