  Number (N)ine, founded in 1996 by Takahiro Miyashita, became a cult Japanese label celebrated for its fusion of rock music, Americana, and subcultural aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from icons like Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix, Miyashita’s designs redefined streetwear and tailoring. The Autumn/Winter 2006 collection, “NOIR,” marked a pivotal shift in his work, emphasizing meticulous construction and dark, romantic influences, inspired by Celtic punk and militaristic themes. This showcase Napoleon-inspired jacket is hands down one of the finest item I’ve owned, features intricate embroidery, heavy black round buttons and structured detailing that is used throughout the collection, this jacket is yet to be seen anywhere else and among Miyashita’s best creations. Later reimagined under TakahiroMiyashita TheSoloist, it remains a highly sought-after grail for Number (N)ine enthusiasts.
