Tatsuro Horikawa, originally from Kyushu, Japan, founded the avant-garde fashion label Julius in 2001. Initially conceived as a filmography collective, the brand transitioned into fashion in 2004, maintaining its roots in art and architecture. Horikawa’s early apparel line, “Nuke,” featured industrial-inspired graphics on T-shirts, long-sleeves, hoodies, and pants, reflecting his fascination with the Tokyo underground scene. Over time, Julius evolved into a label known for its refined, ultra-dystopian aesthetic, characterized by dark, monochromatic tones and innovative silhouettes. These slim-fit gas masks cargos are from Spring/Summer 2017 “Knives;” collection. Crafted from 8oz stretch Japanese denim, offering both comfort and flexibility. The design features an abundance of cargo pockets, providing a utilitarian yet avant-garde look.
