Christopher Nemeth: your favourite designer’s favourite designer. He was a key figure in the 80s London fashion scene centred around The House of Beauty and Culture, of which he was a founding member. Beginning in London and later moving to live and work in Tokyo, Nemeth garnered a cult following for his intricate cutting and sewing, which created the distinctive silhouette he called “self-portrait.” The handmade individuality of his work—carefully crafted garments, paintings, and furniture—shows his ability to interlace art and fashion, securing his place among the greatest fashion designers. Over the years, he became a known inspiration for the younger designers that came after, notably Mr. Kim Jones has dedicated a Capsule Collection titled: “Hero Collection.”at his helm in Louis Vuitton, where he celebrates the way Christopher Nemeth detested the conceptualisation of creative practice, placing importance on the exploratory joy of making, and understood his work to be an instinctive and dexterous pursuit. A super rare piece from Nemeth’s archival. Produced within the late 1980s, this blazer features deconstructed details throughout, made from premium quality kid mohair & wool blend gabardine material that still has the vintage original fabric roll tag, splattered with “Made in England” and “Finest Mohair” throughout, the back was also reconstructed to articulate a natural ‘hump’ shape. Enough said, this jacket is just insane! S/O to Haj’s mom for blessing me this piece @bloom24901
