Boris Bidjan Saberi, a German-Persian designer born in Munich in 1978, fuses his multicultural heritage with a deep-rooted interest in numerology to create avant-garde menswear. Since launching his eponymous label in 2007, he has drawn inspiration from urban landscapes and artisanal craftsmanship, with Monistrol de Montserrat and Barcelona serving as his creative hubs. His collections, consistently presented at Paris Fashion Week, blend rugged functionality with high-concept tailoring. From his Spring/Summer 2016 collection, titled “Subsphere Collision,” these Bambas high-top sneakers showcase his experimental approach to material treatments. Crafted from vegetable-tanned yak leather, they undergo a garment-dyeing process to achieve their deep, electric blue hue, feature a mix of smooth and suede leather textures adds depth, while black rubber detailing reinforces their industrial edge. With a sculpted, jagged outsole and tonal laces, these shoes merge the label’s raw, dystopian aesthetic with functional design.
